The location of the hotel is good and very close to cotswold. There is a pool and sauna, don't forget to take your swimsuit. The massage services are very detailed and the prices are affordable. There is a massage service suitable for many ailments including sciatica. The beds are comfortable and the room width is quite sufficient. There is a lot of variety at breakfast and hot dishes are very delicious.

Dear Management,
I am writing to formally express my disappointment regarding the refusal to waive the cancellation fee for our recent booking at Blunsdon House Hotel.
We made the booking via Booking.com and contacted them more than 24 hours before our scheduled check-in to cancel, as we had received a last-minute opening for a specialized medical appointment for our baby—a crucial appointment we had been waiting months to secure. While Booking.com informed us that the decision to waive the cancellation fee was entirely at your discretion, we were shocked to learn that you refused to do so, even after we provided the necessary documentation, including the doctor’s appointment letter.
This situation was entirely beyond our control, and we had hoped your team would demonstrate understanding and compassion under the circumstances. As a parent dealing with a time-sensitive medical matter for my child, it was incredibly disheartening to encounter such a rigid response. As someone who works as a business lender, I understand the importance of policies, but I also believe that businesses thrive on human understanding and exceptional customer service.
We had anticipated a more empathetic approach, especially as our cancellation request was not one of convenience but necessity. By refusing to waive the fee “in this instance,” your decision has left us not only disappointed but unlikely to recommend or consider Blunsdon House Hotel in the future.
I respectfully request that you reconsider this matter and issue a refund for the cancellation fee. A gesture of goodwill in this case would not only restore our faith in your establishment but also reflect positively on your reputation as a business that values compassion and customer care.
I look forward to your response.

Stayed here for 1 night for my gf's 50th and our anniversary. We had a room upstairs in the Pavilion with a balcony. Room was very nice. Bed super comfy. Huge bath. Great views across the countryside. We ate in Carries bar on Friday night. Both had salads as we're very health conscious. The food was great. The buffet breakfast next morning was excellent. Huge range of options. We had scramble egg, lovely. We both really enjoyed our time here

What a let down ... sent main meal back as it was cold then the bartender argued with me in front of other diners that she had put cointreau in my coffee which I couldn't taste . Then we were charged for 3 meals instead of 2 had to half hour for supervisor to come which never happened and manager wasn't interested just said sorry we are having a bad day . What a disappointment of an evening

A really super hotel with friendly helpful staff. I had a lovely, spotlessly clean room with a very comfortable bed. Dinner was excellent as was breakfast with an excellent choice available.

Most definitely a very disappointing experience. It was the staff in the leisure facility and Secrets that made this experience better.
Having stayed before this was an experience we’ve never had before.
Very dated and dirty, lacking the atmosphere it’s had in the past.
Cobwebs in the servery area at breakfast didn’t make for good viewing.
All 4 coffee and hot water flasks were empty. Come on this was a four star establishment, no longer do I believe that to be the case.
What other four star establishments are you expected to serve yourself from beginning to end. The staff even struggled to clear tables for new guests to sit. We have to stand and wait as so many were reserved upon arrival, and remained that way and unused when we left.
With little option of vegetarian it was poor.
Rooms were not cleaned to a four star Standard and the overall atmosphere didn’t portray that.
No ventilation in the room and no air conditioning. We were on ground level so we’re unable to leave the French doors open for fresh air.

We've used this hotel for an organised function for the last 3 years and it has been consistently excellent. We're quite fond of the Best Western brand, anyway.

I’ve been there for business trips during my period in Swindon, the hotel is in the middle of the countryside, the hotel is nice, rooms are big but the moquette on the floor is very old and is not kept clean, restaurant serves different dishes with medium to low level.

Very nice hotel set in a convenient location with a picturesque view. The food is good quality and the beers are always fresh. There is a playroom for the children with video games and table football so the adults can relax in the modern bar.

Excellent one night stay whilst visiting family in the village. Standard room which was roomy and very clean. No aircon but fan provided, which was more than adequate. Good tea and coffee facilities in room. Even though the hotel was busy with a wedding and a large function there was no lack of service, staff were friendly and efficient. Pool facilities were a bonus and buffet breakfast was excellent. We have stayed at the nearby Premier inn but definitely prefer the Blunsdon House hotel, much better value and location.

Good facilities. We had a king sized bed in the room, a mini fridge. Bathroom had a shower and a bath. The room and the hotel generally was very clean and well cared for. Check in wasn't as smooth as you would expect in a 4 star hotel as there was a problem with the rooms being ready. There appeared to be staff issues/shortage? We were told we were in a queue for the rooms. Not sure why as there didn't appear to be that many guests. We checked in just over an hour late. The swimming pool, sauna and steam room were clean. Soap/shower gel would have been good to have in the changing rooms. There were gaps on the wall where soap dispensers should have been so there must have been some in the past.
Would I stay again? Yes. But maybe
Best Western need to cast a critical eye over the minor details that could let this place down. Please provide soap or shower gel in the changing rooms, please renew your towels, and please train your staff to understand that the customer is important.

Wow! A hidden gem within Swindon. Great food, exceptional staff and the rooms were fabulous. We never got to use the Spa as we were both ill! We will next time.

I recently attended my best friend’s wedding at the Blunsdon House Hotel in Swindon. While the wedding itself was stunning and beautifully organized, what happened afterward was beyond disappointing and unacceptable.
The bride and groom's card box, which contained cards and money, was stolen from a room that was supposed to be locked overnight. This is deeply troubling, as access to the room was limited to staff members with a key. Rather than showing compassion or empathy for the newlyweds, they showed a shocking lack of concern. To make matters worse, they had the audacity to suggest that a member of the wedding party might be responsible. I can confidently say that this accusation is completely unfounded.
The way Blunsdon House Hotel handled this situation was appalling. A wedding is supposed to be one of the happiest days of a couple’s life, and their carelessness and insensitivity tainted what should have been a perfect memory. I feel terribly sad that this is the lasting memory of my best friends big day.

All I can say is a massive THANK YOU to grace and her team! From the day we booked our wedding with the blunsdon they have been absolutely amazing! From accomodating all of our guests to making our day truly one to remember! (Including not letting me walk across the car park in my wedding dress because of the rain) We can never thank you enough and really hope that you get the recognition you deserve. Especially Grace, we have never come across someone as beautiful as you who is willing to go above and beyond as much as you did. We will always treasure our big day and all you and your team did for us.

I’m deeply disappointed with our experience at Blunsdon House Hotel. My brother and his now-wife celebrated their wedding here, and unfortunately, their special day was marred by a significant issue—money was stolen from the postbox. To make matters worse, the room containing the postbox was left unattended and the door was left unlocked overnight.
What was even more frustrating was the hotel’s response to the situation. Instead of addressing the issue with care and empathy, the staff only argued their point and failed to show any remorse or take responsibility. Their lack of concern and support during such a crucial time for my family was unacceptable and incredibly disheartening.
It’s clear that any reply to this review will likely be a defense of their actions rather than an acknowledgment of the problem. I find this shocking and indicative of their overall attitude. There are additional issues with their service that I cannot disclose publicly but which reflect even more poorly on their behavior.
This experience has left a lasting negative impression, and I cannot recommend this hotel based on our experience. I hope future guests do not have to endure the same lack of consideration and accountability that we did.

I only wish there were zero stars as an option!
We paid over £8 thousand for a wedding at this venue. Which I cannot deny was beautiful, organised and easy. Other than the plain, unseasoned food.
The main reason for my complaint is the entire contents of our wedding post box being stolen during the night. Every card, letter and gift opened and discarded. Cards missing and envelopes strewn across the room. After promises of the room being locked and trust being placed in multiple members of staff our gifts and cards were opened and placed under table cloths to disguise the theft. We were advised it must have been a guest of our wedding as there is absolutely no chance a member of staff could have stolen from us….doors are locked and there it must have been during the event…
Lies.
To subsequently hear reports of staff members being sacked over the offence and no follow up given to us as the bride and groom. We are, quite frankly disgusted. We were offered a nights stay for free as compensation. Do you really think I want to stay in your outdated hotel one moment longer? I won’t be petty and mention all the other reasons multiple guests of ours had a better time at the premier inn up the road but remain on the point. Which is…trust, integrity and deception.
The police have been notified and the memory of our day tarnished.
Shame on you Blunsdon for trying to cover up an inside job. And shame on you for making us doubt, even for a second, anyone we love could have done this to us.
Perhaps think twice before considering the Blunsdon with your most memorable day as mine is now scarred with not only being stolen from but falsely being told it had to be someone we loved!
Perhaps a decent response to our multiple requests for meetings and correspondence could have stopped this being shared online.
Less than kindest regards,
Sarah
Thanks for your response.
The police investigation is not closed contrary to your beliefs.
More lies.
Regardless of what your employment records state we all know the truth.
Also you don’t have a good name to sully in the first place so I’m not sure where you get that idea from.
We have not ‘assumed’ anything. We have been told by multiple members of YOUR staff that there has been a sacking due to the theft from our wedding. Despite what you may have put on your employment records it’s very easy to say someone has been fired for something other than the theft to avoid responsibility.
